Escape your everyday routine on a full-day reindeer safari through the peaceful, snow-covered wilderness of Salla, Finnish Lapland. Experience the traditional way of travelling through the Arctic landscape with our reindeer and enjoy a day surrounded by nature.

Before setting off, your guide will provide driving instructions and introduce you to the basics of reindeer sleigh driving. Then it’s your turn to drive your own sleigh, following your guide through the snowy wilderness. Children under 13 travel in the same sleigh as their parent.

Along the way, you’ll stop to feed our female reindeer and calves. Enjoy a longer lunch break in a traditional Lappish kota hut, where you’ll also learn how to catch a reindeer using a traditional Lappish lasso called a suopunki.

With over 30 years of experience in reindeer safaris, we offer one of the most authentic reindeer safari experiences in Finnish Lapland. Travel 5 to 7 km by reindeer sleigh through the beautiful Arctic wilderness and discover the traditions of Lapland firsthand.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the actual ride with the reindeer and sleigh?
This is our longest reindeer safari, and one of the longest in the whole Lapland. Normal track is 7,5km. If the weather is very cold, or there is very little snow, we might shorten the track litlle bit.
What is for lunch?
This depends on a guide, but usually we prepare salmon stew by the fire.
Do I have to control the reindeer by myself?
On normal winter conditions, when the track is safe, you will control your reindeer by yourself. After driving instructions of course.
