Experience the magic of a husky safari in Finnish Lapland and feel the thrill of travelling through the Arctic wilderness with your own team of eager sled dogs. Enjoy the peaceful snowy landscapes, the energy of the huskies and the excitement of driving your own sled through the beautiful wilderness of Salla.

Before setting off, our experienced guide will teach you how to drive the husky sled and explain the essential safety instructions.

Each sled accommodates two adults: one driver and one passenger. The driver stands behind the sled and controls the husky team, while the passenger sits comfortably in the sled. Halfway through the safari, you will switch places so both of you can experience driving the huskies.

Along the way, we stop at a wilderness campfire site, where your guide prepares a delicious soup lunch over the open fire. Enjoy sweet buns and hot drinks for dessert before continuing your husky safari through the Arctic wilderness.

How it unfolds

  1. Arrival

    Check in and gear up

    Check in at the front desk and meet up with your guide. Warm overalls, winter shoes and mittens are provided if needed.

  2. Before the start

    Driving school

    Our guide will provide driving instructions and go through the safety guidelines before the safari. Instructions are in English

  3. Step 1

    Husky ride through the wilderness

    You set off to the forest with a team of huskies. Ride through the arctic forest and enjoy the speed and power of the huskies. Two adults per sleigh; children always with a parent

  4. Step 2

    Lunch stop

    Stop at a fire place, time to cuddle with the dogs. Proper soup lunch made by an open fire, followed by delicious bun and hot drinks

  5. Step 3

    Change driver

    You can switch between the driver and passenger.

Good to know before you go

Who is this for?

A normal level of physical fitness is required. You will drive your own team of huskies, helping them uphill by pushing the sled and controlling your speed downhill by using the brake. If you are unable to drive a sled yourself, please contact our sales team before booking. Children will travel in the sleigh and small kids need to be seated with a parent in a sleigh.
