Salla National Park Visitor Centre
In our main building
Your gateway to Salla National Park
The visitor centre for Salla National Park is right inside the Wilderness Park main building. It is the place to start if you want to understand the forests and fells around you before heading out.
The Metsän sali nature exhibition, run by Finnish Forest Administration (Metsähallitus), takes you into the secrets of the Lappish forest: its animals, plants and the richness of life in them.
The exhibition entry is free of charge and is accessible by wheelchair as well.

Plan your hike with us
The visitor centre also works as an info point for hikers. Our staff know the trails in Salla National Park and the surrounding area, and can help you find a route that suits you, whether you have a few hours or several days.
Ask us about the best spots to visit, trail conditions and how to move responsibly in the national park. Then warm up in the café next door before or after your hike.
Whether it is a day trip or a longer hike, we help you find the route that suits you.
